Canine Behaviour and Training Services

One of our nurses, Maddie Rumley (currently on sabbatical until May 2026) qualified as a canine behaviourist with the British College of Canine Studies and offers a variety of services for dogs with behavioural and training issues.  She is a member of the IMDT.

Behavioural issues can be caused by a number of different reasons and require different techniques to overcome them. Common behavioural and training concerns include:

  • Separation anxiety
  • Fear aggression
  • Food aggression
  • Noise phobias
  • Destructive behaviour
  • Behaviours relating to lack of socialisation and training as a puppy

This service is offered to everyone, whether a client of the practice or not. Initially it is advised to have a ‘Behaviour Pre-Assessment’ which consists of either a telephone conversation or a short consultation at the practice to discuss the behavioural concerns. After this, Maddie can make a plan with you for your dog going forward.

Maddie is based at our Meopham Hospital.

*** Whilst Maddie is off, if you feel your dog is struggling with behavioural issues, please speak to one of our vets who can refer you to an external behaviourist if needed ***

To book an assessment please contact Maddie on 01474 815333 or alternatively you can email her on maddie@meophamvets.co.uk

We are also able to offer free puppy socialisation classes which have proven to be a huge confidence booster for puppies in the veterinary environment when it comes to future visits.
